1 hospitalized after fire breaks out at West Town home, sources say​on March 18, 2025 at 9:13 am

One person was hospitalized after a fire broke out at a house on the West Side on Monday evening, sources said.

The Chicago Fire Department was battling a West Town fire in the 2100-block of West Superior Street on Monday evening. One person was hospitalized.

CHICAGO (WLS) — One person was hospitalized after a fire broke out at a house on the West Side on Monday evening, sources said.

Chopper 7 was over the scene in the West Town neighborhood’s 2100-block of West Superior Street around 6 p.m.

Firefighters were trying to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings, but at least one of those structures was damaged.

The fire was close to other buildings, making it difficult for crews to contain.

The person who was taken to the hospital is expected to be OK.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information about the fire.
