12-year-old girl fatally shot inside Calumet Heights home, police say​on February 10, 2025 at 3:03 pm

A 12-year-old girl was fatally shot Sunday evening inside a Calumet Heights home, according to Chicago police.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the girl as Dalilah Batey. She was found shot in a home on the 9200 block of South Harper Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found the girl struck inside a residence. The victim was transported to Comer’s Children Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
