18-year-old released on bail following Glenavon football club stabbing

An 18-year-old man who was arrested in connection with a stabbing incident at Glenavon football club at the weekend has been released on bail.

The man was arrested after another 18-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to “serious head injuries”.

“An 18-year-old man, arrested by detectives investigating a stabbing at the Glenavon Football and Athletic Club on Sunday, May 4, has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries,” a police spokesperson said.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at the club just after midnight on Sunday.

They are continuing to appeal for information as their investigation continues.

“We know there were a lot of people in the club around the time of the incident, so are asking for anyone who might have information that could help us with our enquiries to call police on 101.”
