2 killed, at least 4 injured in Kenwood apartment fire, officials say​on March 31, 2025 at 3:45 am

Two people were killed and at least four other people were injured in an apartment fire Sunday on the city’s South Side. Officials told ABC7 one victim jumped from the building.

Two people were killed and at least four others were injured in an apartment fire at East 46th Street and Woodlawn Avenue in Kenwood, officials said.

CHICAGO (WLS) — Two people were killed and at least four other people were injured in an apartment fire Sunday on the city’s South Side.

The fire happened at an apartment near East 46th Street and Woodlawn Avenue in the Kenwood neighborhood.

The Chicago Fire Department initially said six people were taken to hospitals.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Officer later confirmed two female victims died in connection to the fire. Their ages and identities were not immediately known.

Officials told ABC7 one victim jumped from the building.
