2 pronounced dead in triple shooting overnight on Near West Side​on June 21, 2025 at 12:54 pm

A man and a woman were fatally wounded during a triple shooting overnight on the Near West Side in the Little Italy/UIC neighborhood, Chicago police said.

About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, three victims were standing on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of West Roosevelt Road when a black SUV and three gunmen exited and opened fire, police said.

The gunmen retured to the SUV and fled the scene.

A 23-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen, and was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A 24-year-old man who was shot multiple times to the body also was taken to the same hospital where he was pronounced dead. A third man, 25, suffered a wound to the ankle and was listed in good condition at Rush University Hospital, police said.

No one was in custody for the fatal attack and police were investigating.
