DALLAS — The 2025 Dallas Cup, the United States’ most prestigious youth soccer tournament, will feature not only a record number of boys teams competing, but it also significantly grew its girls’ divisions, following the acquisition of the Dallas International Girls Cup in the summer of 2024.
The 2024 tournament drew $38 million in economic impact. Officials announced the Dallas Cup signed a five-year deal with global sports brand PUMA. As part of the partnership, PUMA will provide match balls, official tournament apparel and gear, and a range of PUMA-licensed displays at the tournament through 2029.
All Dallas Cup tournament matches in 2025 will be played with PUMA’s Orbita match ball, tournament organizers said. PUMA will serve as the apparel partner for the tournament, which includes all staff and volunteer apparel, as well as Dallas Cup licensed clothing sold during the tournament. Additionally, PUMA will have several visible assets throughout the tournament venues including branded signs, flags, interactive activations, and more.
The Dallas Cup reintroduced girls’ divisions in 2021, and now after coinciding with the Dallas Texans International Girls Cup expects over 180 girls teams to compete in the 2025 tournament, organizers said in a press release Tuesday. There will be 10 age groups in the girls division (U10-U19). The 2025 girls’ divisions will feature representation from at least nine nations, Dallas Cup officials said.
Dallas Cup officials said they expect over 300 boys teams to compete in the 2025 tournament. In 2024, a record 284 total teams (boys and girls) played. In 2025, close to 500 total teams are expected to compete in the invitation-only tournament, which began in 1980.
Among the highlights of the girls’ competition in 2025 are several top teams from the Oceania region. The U17 Samoa Girls National Team will make their tournament debut after earning a place in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 by finishing as runners-up in the OFC U16 Women’s Championship, according to tournament organizers. The Australian School Girls will return to defend their U19 title after making history in 2024 as the first international girls’ team to win a Dallas Cup championship.
At the professional club level, the tournament welcomes back Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt U-17 girls’ team, who will make their fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament. They finished runner-up in the U17 division at the 2024 Dallas Cup.
Teams from all over the world – including England, the Philippines, Mexico and Canada – will take on teams from the United States.
The 2025 Dallas Cup will take place from April 13 through April 20. The first day will feature a marquee triple-header at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. The event will also feature the annual Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Teams presented by Whataburger:
