6 injured after driver crashes van into house in northwestern Miami-Dade​on February 28, 2025 at 12:06 pm

Six people were injured when the driver of a van crashed into a house early Friday morning in northwestern Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies were investigating why the driver veered off Northwest 119th Street.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to the house in a neighborhood east of Interstate 95 and south of North Miami.

Surveillance cameras from a nearby home caught the moment of impact.

The video shows the van veering off of Northwest 119th street, going over the median and plowing right into two parked cars before slamming into a home’s garage.

It all happened before sunrise at around 5:30 a.m. near Northwest Fifth Avenue.

According to MDSO, three of the passengers who were in the van are in critical condition.

The other three escaped with only minor injuries.

Sky 10 was overhead as paramedics worked to place one of the injured onto a stretcher and then into an ambulance.

What caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle remains under investigation.
