Singer Gabrielle, known for hits including Dreams, Rise and Out of Reach, has revealed she has had to pull out of one of concerts at the last minute after feeling unwell.

The iconic star was due to perform in Newcastle’s O2 City Hall tonight.

But sadly she is now unable to perform.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Gabrielle posted: “Newcastle I’m so sorry.

“It breaks my heart to say this, but I have to postpone tomorrow’s show due to illness.

“This was not an easy decision, and I’m absolutely gutted.

“More than anything, I want to give you an incredible show, and right now I wouldn’t be able to do that.

“We are working on rescheduling the show and will keep you updated as soon as we have more details.”

The heartbroken singer ended the message with: “Love you all.”

GABRIELLE’S COMEBACK

Gabrielle announced her huge arena tour last year.

She revealed at that time that because her kids are all grown up, she can focus on working again.

Speaking to the Mirror, Gabrielle said: “I no longer have to rush back for the school run or worry about embarrassing my kids at school.

“Do I feel more comfortable now than ever? 100%. I feel less afraid and more confident in my own skin. I am in my 50s now and I feel like if I don’t learn to love and accept myself now, I never will.”

Gabrielle confessed there was a time she thought she’d never return to the stage.

She added: “Performing in arenas again is a professional dream coming true.

“I would love to have a career like Sir Elton John, who is still performing in his 70s.

“That’s how I see myself. While people still want to see me on stage, I still want to be on stage.”

MASKED SINGER FAME

Gabrielle took part in The Masked Singer UK in 2020, and was a massive hit.

She went onto place place fourth after competing as Harlequin, and just missed out on the final.

However, the singer later admitted she nearly quit because the costume “nearly killed” her.

During an interview in 2021 on Martin and Roman’s Weekend Best, Gabrielle shared her struggles and “crazy” experience as Harlequin.

She admitted how she “nearly walked out on the first day” but added: “I’m glad I ended up staying and seeing it through and had a whale of a time”.

Asked why she wanted to quit, Gabrielle replied: “Menopausal woman, that hot mask nearly killed me!”

She added that the mask was very “heavy” and she wasn’t able to fan her face.

Although it was a “crazy” experience, Gabrielle said she “enjoyed it”.
