Birmingham is gearing up for a New Year’s Eve celebration to mark the start of the great Year of the Dragon. The festival, scheduled for Sunday, is expected to start at noon and will feature cultural performances, stands and spectacular fireworks displays.
The event takes place both indoors and outdoors at the Birmingham Arena in Birmingham’s lively South End. It is designed to attract the attention of the audience. Highlights include a Tai Chi performance, a colorful dance performance and a majestic lion memorial. A majestic 3-meter giant panda will greet visitors to the festival.
The event is held in partnership with Birmingham Arena, Birmingham Chinatown Health Committee and Birmingham Chinatown Collaboration to provide a great experience for festival attendees. Arena Creative Director Chris Sudworth gave a welcome speech and underlined the expectations from the event.
Birmingham Chinese Festival Committee Chairman James Wong shared his excitement by reminding the crowd of the beautiful attraction. From the dancing dragon symbolizing strength and luck to the beautiful face of the giant panda Pom Pom, attendees can expect a day full of culture and fun.
