Of course, it wouldn’t be Happy Gilmore if Adam Sandler wasn’t coming back to reprise his iconic role as the goofy hockey-player-turned-golfer.

Adam confirmed that Travis Kelce will feature in the flick during an interview with Jimmy Fallon. He also teased that some pro golfers are set to appear in the sequel.

The original film also featured Rocky star Carl Weathers, Modern Family’s Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, and pro golfer Lee Trevino.

The film is set to see the return of Happy Gilmore’s arch-nemesis, played by Christopher McDonald, as well as some new faces, including Margaret Qualley and Bad Bunny.

The film’s release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the film is set to be released to Netflix at some point in 2025, so we have that to look forward to!

Who is behind it?

Luckily for us, Adam Sandler will be writing the sequel script alongside the original co-writer Tim Herlihy, so we can likely anticipate similar jokes.

The sequel will be produced by Happy Madison, the Hollywood star’s production company which is named after Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison.

Netflix ordered the film in May, as the streaming platform has a contract with Adam.

Is there a trailer?

While no official trailer has been released, Adam took to social media on Christmas Day 2024 to share a clip from the film. The teaser showed the actor doing his signature goofy walk-up to hit a goofball, with Travis visible in the background.

‘Happy Chanukah! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! And Happy Gilmore to all!!!!!!’ he wrote alongside the video.
