TV presenter Adrian Chiles has revealed his ideal pub crawl – a pint of stout at a pub in each of the 32 counties.
The writer, broadcaster and Guardian columnist was giving his two cents worth on former publican Dale Harvey.
The Nottingham native is on a mission to visit every single pub in the UK – which is no easy feat by Chiles calculations. It’s a pub crawl that would take him more than 32 years at a rate of 20 pubs a week.
Instead, Chiles said his ideal pub crawl could be completed in just over a month.
“For my part, I harbour an ambition to drink a pint of stout in each of the 32 counties on the island of Ireland,” he said.
“This will take either eight, 16 or 32 days, depending on whether I can manage four, two or one pints/counties a day.
“While I’m ironing out the details, please be assured that I’ll be doing it without any higher purpose. It’ll be just for fun. Fun is fine.”
