Confusion reigned as crowds were temporarily prevented from getting to their seats before North’s clash with Sydney
Fans were left stuck outside Marvel Stadium ahead of tonight’s North Melbourne v Sydney clash because of a technical hitch with the roof.
Fans are not allowed entry into the Docklands ground until the roof is fully closed, and a mechanical problem caused a slight delay.
A number of frustrated supporters confused the issue with Thursday night’s security breach at the MCG when two fans were alleged to have taken guns inside the ground.
Love this from Chad Warner who pretended to give former teammate Luke Parker some love after he kicked a goal.
Parker wasn’t in the mood to join in which made it even funnier.
That was a seven goals to one term from the Swans who have blown open this match and will romp home with a win, the question now is how much they win by.
The Roos seem to get further and further away from the Swans and now they nervously wait to see if Jy Simpkin is seriously injured or just going to be sore after he went down late on.
Things are going from bad to worse to whatever comes next for the Roos.
Now Jy Simpkin has hobbled off injured after having his leg roll under the foot of a defender as he was tackled.
It looked like an ankle injury but could be a knee. Either way, he’s getting treatment on the bench.
The Roos have used their sub too.
Now the Swans are sharing the goals around with a fella named Tom Hanily moving forward and kicking a goal.
The 19-year-old Gippsland product was picked in last year’s mid-season draft – now he’s booting goals in the AFL.
In the meantime, the Roos have finally found the goals with Parker kicking his second goal.
If we put Swans and former Swans goals together tonight, there aren’t too many goals left in this match.
Swans 91, Roos 39 with two mins to go in Q3.
Amartey has giving the Roos a bath tonight and he’s kicked his fourth goal.
James Rowbottom intercepted a poor pass from the Roos and found the big forward who went back and kicked the goal.
Debutant Matt Whitlock has been subbed out with Riley Hardeman coming into the game for the Roos.
Swans 85, Roos 33 with four mins to go in Q3.
Will Hayward has kicked his fourth goal and the Roos aren’t holding their defensive shape well at all.
Amartey, Hayward and others are finding gaps with regularly and now the goals are stacking up.
Swans 78, Roos 33 with eight mins to go in Q3.
The Roos created an excellent chance for Larkey but he dropped the mark and the Roos couldn’t grab the footy and kick a goal.
That was so costly as the Swans went to the other end and found Amartey who pulled in a contested mark and snapped his third goal.
Moments later, the Swans went long to ruckman Peter Ladhams who took a mark and was dumped down by Charlie Comden and it turned into a 50m penalty.
Ladhams goaled from point blank range and the Swans have kicked three straight goals.
This game is fast running away from the Roos.
Swans 71, Roos 32 with 15 mins to go in Q3.
Braeden Campbell worked his way on to the footy and booted a running goal to give the Swans a dream start to the second half.
Campbell has had less than a dozen disposals but his drive and run have been invaluable for the visitors.
Swans 59, Roos 31 with 18 mins to go in Q3.
This picture is a pretty good image to display the wildness of this first half at Marvel Stadium.
