ARGYLE, Texas — Voters in the fast-growing town of Argyle in Denton County selected a new mayor and town council member.
Argyle is a town of nearly 6,000, according to Census data in Denton County about 40 miles northwest of Dallas.
Current Mayor Rick Bradford, a former town council member who ran unopposed for mayor in 2023, as the Cross Timbers Gazette reported, didn’t run for re-election.
Ronald Schmidt, who currently serves as Argyle’s Mayor Pro Tem, and Chad Sheddy, a retired business owner, according to the Cross Timbers Gazette, ran for the mayor seat.
Results show Schmidt led Sheddy with more than 70% of the vote.
Business owner, Martin Brading, who’s served on Argyle’s planning and zoning commission, ran unopposed to replace Schmidt in the place 2 seat on the town council.
Casey Stewart ran unopposed for re-election in the place 4 seat on the town council.
