FORT WORTH, Texas — At least three people were killed and other victims were hospitalized in a crash early Saturday morning, Fort Worth police told WFAA.

The Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) said its officers responded to a major crash at approximately 4:03 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of W. Risinger Road. FWPD said officers found multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, where at least three people died.

WFAA sent a crew to the scene and found five vehicles crashed against each other. Officials confirmed to WFAA the crash was not weather related, but the exact cause of the crash remained unclear.

In a statement, Union Pacific told WFAA “the incident did not involve the railroad; however, due to its close proximity to the tracks, rail traffic is impacted.” Union Pacific said it will resume once Fort Worth police have cleared the area.

The conditions of those taken to the hospital were unknown Saturday morning.
