While the Toronto Blue Jays kick off their 2025 season at home on Thursday, fans driving to Rogers Centre on game days will be affected by nearby road closures.

Aging sewer infrastructure is being updated on Bremner Blvd. at Blue Jays Way this spring to prevent potential water main issues in the future.

The city says that while construction work is ahead of schedule, there will continue to be disruptions for drivers.

One westbound lane on Bremner Blvd. will be closed until March 31 and both westbound lanes on Bremner Blvd. will be closed starting April 1 until late spring.

Blue Jays Way is also closed to traffic south of Front St. W. Driveway access on Blue Jays Way including the Marriott City Centre Hotel is being be maintained and pedestrian and bicycle paths are open.

Navy Wharf Ct. is also closed between Blue Jays Way and Bremner Blvd.

“Residents and tourists are encouraged to use transit, walk or find alternate routes,” the city told the Sun in a statement. “The city understands the inconvenience this may cause and appreciates everyone’s patience as these important upgrades are achieved.”

The second phase of repair work is expected to begin in July on Navy Wharf Ct. The city said one lane in each direction and driveway access will be maintained between Bremner Blvd. and Blue Jays Way.

However, for a portion of construction, the north and east intersections of Navy Wharf Ct. and Bremner Blvd. will be closed to pedestrians.

The Blue Jays open the season with a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. Opening pitch is set for 3:07 p.m.
