BSO: Man critically injured in Oakland Park shooting; suspect detained​on January 31, 2025 at 8:28 pm

A man was critically injured in a shooting Friday afternoon in Oakland Park, authorities said.

Broward County Regional Communications received a call about the shooting shortly after 1:45 p.m. near the 200 block of Northeast 35th Street, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said BSO deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, BSO said.

A suspect was detained nearby, and investigators said the shooting may have been “domestic in nature.”

No more details about the incident were immediately released.
