Calgary trailed 5-2 late in the second period when Connor Hvidston’s goal with less than a minute left in the frame ignited the comeback. Third-period markers by Carson Wetsch, six minutes in, and Oliver Tulk, with seven minutes remaining in regulation, set the stage for Kindel’s heroics.

In the first period, the Hitmen erased 1-0 and 2-1 deficits on goals by Carter Yakemchuk and Brandon Gorzynski.

Anders Miller made 26 saves for Calgary, which fired 28 shots at Lethbridge goalie Jackson Unger.

The Hitmen — who have won the last two games in OT and climbed out of a 0-2 series hole — will look to advance when the clubs face off for Game 6 in Lethbridge on Saturday (7 p.m.). A Game 7, if necessary, would be played back at the Dome on Wednesday (7 p.m.).
