Edmonton police have laid charges following a 13-year-old boy’s death after an assault at MacEwan LRT station on Wednesday night.
Police initially called it a suspicious death but said Friday post-autopsy that he died of a stab wound in a homicide.
Officers said they responded to reports of “an assault involving multiple people fighting” at the station near 105 Avenue and 104 Street, finding the boy dead.

The boy was part of a group of four youths and an 18-year-old man who reportedly assaulted a 34-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman at the LRT station, police said. The group and the pair didn’t know each other, police said.
A 15-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, and Destynd Jackson, 18, have been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possessing an offensive weapon dangerous to the public.
