Gage Towles, a 22-year-old fishing content creator, was out on the water in Punta Gorda on Tuesday when a camera on his boat captured Brock Horner unleash an expletive-filled tirade accusing the young fisherman of “cussing him out” earlier in the day.
Towles can be heard repeatedly telling Horner that he “has the wrong guy,” but that only set off the captain more.
Despite Towles’ denials, Horner refused to listen and jumped onto the terrified young man’s boat and threatened to attack him.
“I’m 300 f***ing days on the water, I’m the best charter captain you’ll ever f***ing meet in your motherf***ing life. You cuss me out … apologize,” Horner demanded, cornering the kid on his own boat.
Towles can be heard begging, “Chill, bro, please. Please, bro. Bro, I’m a kid.”

He tried to explain to the seasoned captain that another fisherman had also been out on the water at the same time as them, but Horner was unflinching with his rant.
“You don’t cuss me out, talk s*** to me … you and your motherf***ing friend are lucky I didn’t come here and f*** you both up. Do it again and watch what happens,” Horner threatened.
Towles continued to apologize but also tried to explain that it was a case of mistaken identity.
“It made me feel so weak but I was already having a horrible day and this iced the cake,” Towles later explained when he shared the video on his YouTube page.
“I look at it now like I possibly can save another person from Brock Horner or possibly someone’s life by getting this captain off the water.”

Local law enforcement said they were inundated with reports after the video gained traction on social media.
“The Punta Gorda Police Department is aware of the incident involving a dispute between two adult boaters under the Barron Collier Bridge on April 1, 2025,” the department said in a statement.
“A police report has been filed with the department, and the incident is currently under investigation.”
People on the internet showed their support for Towles in droves, blasting Horner but also the men with him who did nothing to deescalate the situation.

“I’m a local marine professional and Marine combat veteran,” one person wrote. “I’m truly ashamed at Brock and everyone else’s conduct on his boat.”
Another added: “So he boarded your vessel, without invitation, with intent to harm … that’s piracy punishable up to life in prison. Press charges.”

A third person noted that Towles’ “parents should be proud.”
They wrote, “You handled this like a real man. You did everything to de-escalate and defuse him. The amount of strength and power it took to remain calm and collected proves who the bigger man is. Well done buddy.”

One of the passengers on Horner’s boat has since spoken up, saying he was only there to film Horner and two other men and didn’t know any of them.
“We told Brock not to confront the guy, he’s a 22-year-old kid, we told him not to do it but it happened and he went crazy yelling.”
He added: “If I could go back, I would say more, I do regret not saying more but I just didn’t want to be involved in the situation.
