Keys was very happy with her play post game. She spoke to Jelena Dokic post match.
It’s never easy to play a friend, someone you’ve known for a very long time, both Americans. How hard was it to come out and play Danielle tonight.
It’s always difficult. We’ve been playing each other since 12 years old and had some battles. She’s such a fighter. Always leaves everything out there. It was really difficult playing her.
Now, you won late in the lead-up. Back in the fourth round here. 14 in the world. Getting closer to back in the top 10. Is it safe to say you’re playing again some of the best tennis of your career?
I’ve been playing some good tennis. I always really love playing in Australia and have a lot of great success here and being able to… (crowd cheers) Being able to win another title in Australia and be in the fourth round is amazing.
Madison Keys is through to the fourth round after a straight-sets win over Danielle Collins.
She yelled ’c’mon after securing match point.
The players hugged at centre court, they are friends going back to their childhood.
Keys won 6-4, 6-4.
Collins left to boos and a few cheers. She left the court with her head high as she should.
Keys has her future in her own hands when the players come out of the break as she will be serving for the match.
Collins held serve last game and now needs to find something special.

Collins is back on court with her left knee taped up after that medical time out.

Collins is speaking with the physios about a problem with her left knee.
She has been flexing it a bit in recent games, we are just waiting to see if an official medical time out will be called or not.
Keys is on court and staying active.
Perhaps Collins will get some strapping on her knee.
Collins just gave up a break point with a double fault.
During the game, she went to the chair umpire to ask something. It appeared to be about the balls.
A fan yelled out “Time for a holiday Dani” during the game.
Keys is up 6-4, 4-3 and she will be serving for a 5-3 lead after the break.
This set has turned into a super contest now that Keys has got her radar back.
Collins is thumping the ball in her usual manner and Keys is doing the same along with her trademark low down returns.
She just broke Collins’ serve to bring things back to being on serve.
Keys leads 6-4, 3-3 with Collins to serve next.
At the top of the stands, one man had enough of people interjecting, so he stood up turned to people behind him and loudly told them to shut up.
People around him cheered. Hopefully, some other drongos follow his advice.
On the court, Collins has stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the second set.
She has been much better and much more accurate in this set but Keys has also gone right off her game.
Keys is frustrated, after one of her shots went over the baseline, she threw her arms out in disgust.
We won’t hear from Cruz Hewitt after his match.
Junior players are able to decline post-match interviews, unlike in the senior/open event.
That has been the standard approach from the Hewitt camp in the 16-year-old’s career to date.
Keys has rolled through her service game and won the first set 6-4.
Some fans were chanting “let’s go Keys, let’s go” before her serve at 40-0.
Keys dominated this first set. I still we will see a turnaround in second set.
During the break, a guy has asked a woman to marry him.
She said yes. They hugged. People cheered. At least they didn’t boo.
