SWANSEA CITY striker Josh Thomas has joined Drogheda United on loan following a frustrating stint with Bromley.
Thomas, 22, made his Swans debut in the final stages of their 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough on the opening day of their Championship season.
He was subsequently sent on loan to Bromley in order to get more regular football but made just three appearances in League Two, all of them as substitute.
Now the Wales Under-21 international – who spent the first half of last season on loan with Port Vale – will hope to see more action at the FAI Cup holders.
Drogheda boss Kevin Doherty said: “It’s something we’ve been working really hard to get done for the last couple of weeks.
“I have watched him play a lot of games and he is an excellent player. He will score goals and his overall play is really good.
“Swansea are a very big club and he had a lot of interest within our league. It’s great that we are able to get this done.
“He’ll come in and train and play at a very high level and in great facilities. As soon as I saw him play I wanted him in, so I’m delighted to get it over the line,”
Thomas will help fill the void left by Haitian international Frantz Pierrot, who joined Bosnian outfit Velez Mostar last week.
