The wind chill will moderate by Monday afternoon, but the extreme cold wind chill will return Monday night in some areas.

The extreme cold temperatures puts everyone at risk, and is a greater risk for young children, adults and people with chronic illness, or people who work outdoors.

Make sure to cover up and wear several layers, because frostbite can occur within minutes on exposed skin, especially with high wind chills.

If you’re a pet owner, please ensure your dogs and cats don’t stay outside in this weather.

As Edmonton continues to face extremely cold temperatures, the city’s extreme weather response remains active until Feb. 15.

Monday’s forecast is expected to reach a high of -15 C with some sunshine and will drop to -18 C on Monday evening with a 60 per cent chance of snow.

It’s time to bundle up, as all week it looks like we will have a mix of sun, cloud and snow, and it will get very cold overnight.
