It’s currently -18 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station with 5 km/h winds from the south southwest blowing in with a windchill of -22.

The City of Edmonton’s extreme weather response remains active until Feb. 15.

As for the forecast, Wednesday will be a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries and a high of -14 C with a -21 wind chill.  The chance of flurries will jump to 60 per cent overnight, and the wind chill will drop to -30. Thursday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries,  and a high of -21 C with a wind chill of -29.

The city warns that, in these conditions, frostbite can occur in minutes. If you must go outdoors, remember to stay bundled up with gloves, toques, and scarves to protect your extremities!

Thursday: Mainly cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. Wind up to 15 km/h. High – 21 C. Wind chill near -29. Risk of frostbite. UV index 1 or low.
