DALLAS — Voters headed to the polls to decide on everything from local mayor and city council races to billions of dollars in school bond proposals.

In the two largest counties in North Texas, nearly 50 people are running for Dallas City Council, and Mayor Mattie Parker is running for re-election in Fort Worth. Polls close at 7 p.m., and WFAA will track the latest election results here.

Early voting numbers

Ahead of election day, nearly 69,000 of the 1.4 million registered voters in Dallas County cast their ballots early, or about 5%. 

In Tarrant County, nearly 62,000 registered voters of the nearly 1.28 million voters voted early, or about 5%. 

In Denton County, nearly 29,000 voters of the county’s 630,000-plus registered voters voted early, or about 4.5%.

In Collin County, more than 53,000 of the county’s nearly 730,000-plus registered voters voted early, or just over 7%. 

What to know for election day

As of about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dallas County Elections reported 18,894 ballots cast. By 5 p.m., the department reported 39,532 ballots had been cast. There are 422 vote centers across the county. To find the nearest vote center and check wait times, click here
