JUSTIN, Texas — Emergency crews responded to the scene of a small plane crash in Denton County Friday evening, officials said.
According to the FAA, an Azalea Saberwing crashed in a field near 15663 Cessna Road around 7:10 p.m. just outside of the city limits near the Propwash Airport, which is about 30 miles north of Fort Worth. The FAA said only the pilot was on board, but did not share the pilot’s medical condition.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the crash.
“We are actively working to gather more information and ensure the safety of those in the surrounding area,” Justin Fire Chief Matthew Mitchell said. “Our thoughts are with those involved and their families.”
