Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell have teamed up to bring us a new rom-com, and it looks like it’s going to be a refreshingly good one!
Set to make its debut on Prime Video on Thursday, Janaury 30, You’re Cordially Invited follows warring representatives of two different weddings accidentally booked at the same venue.
The film is written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, who delivered us comedies Neighbors, Bros and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, so we’re expecting big things.
A synopsis for the film reads: ‘When two weddings are accidentally booked on the same day at the same venue, each bridal party is challenged with preserving their family’s special moment.’
‘In a hilarious battle of determination, the father of the bride (Will Ferrell) and sister of the other bride (Reese Witherspoon) chaotically go head-to-head as they stop at nothing to uphold an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones.’
The official trailer for You’re Cordially Invited has been released, and it’s pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. It looks totally bonkers!
It also gives a glimpse at the Hollywood actors’ co-stars – including Jack McBrayer, Celia Weston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Leanne Morgan and Stony Blyden, in action.
We’re hoping You’re Cordially Invited tickles that spot of our brain that’s obsessed with early 00s rom-coms, and it seems promising as fans are already excited for it to drop.
