FLOWER MOUND, Texas — Voters in Flower Mound, about 25 miles northeast of Fort Worth, weighed in on a $112 million bond package for park and recreational facilities and street improvements across the town.

The first bond proposition on the ballot in Flower Mound called for $82 million for parks and recreational facilities, including trail systems, parks and sports fields and the expansion of the Community Activity Center. The parks and recreation facilities include the second phase of Twin Coves Park, Leonard & Helen Johns Community Park, Prairie Trail Park, trail projects and more.

The second proposition called for $30 million for street improvement projects across the town over the next five years.

Unofficial results showed both bond propositions passed.

Town officials identified about 30 streets for potential inclusion in the street improvement project, but the streets included in the project will be prioritized based on road condition.

This year’s bond package is the first in Flower Mound in more than 20 years, since a bond passed in 2002 allowed for the construction of the Community Activity Center and several athletic fields.

Since that time, the town has relied on cash reserves from a variety of funding sources to fund capital projects.

Here’s how Flower Mound voters decided on the bond package:
