Forbes releases list of billionaires | Here are the names with North Texas ties​on April 2, 2025 at 1:33 am

DALLAS — Forbes released its list of billionaires whose wealth ranges from $1 billion to Elon Musk’s $342 billion which combines to a $16 trillion total.

That list included several known billionaires who have ties to North Texas. For DFW’s hyper-wealthy, it’s been a good year. Many of those listed have amassed more money since last year’s list, ballooning their net worth significantly.

When it comes to riches in North Texas, women rule. Of the North Texas billionaires who made the grade, the four wealthiest are women.

These numbers are eye-catching, to say the least.

Did you know the richest woman in the world lives in Fort Worth? Now you do. Walmart heiress Alice Walton, founder Sam Walton’s only daughter, has a net worth of $101 billion. Since last year’s list, Walton has added nearly $10 billion to her assets.

Miriam Adelson inherited the Las Vegas Sands Corp., a casino and resort giant, from her late husband, Sheldon Adelson.

Marshall’s wealth went unchanged from last year, according to Forbes, but she climbed in the North Texas rankings, surpassing Lyndal Stephens Greth and family.

Still, Stephens Greth’s net worth has waned to the tune of around $6.5 billion, according to Forbes.

How about them Cowboys? Despite a disappointing season, Jerry Jones’ wealth only grew. The Dallas Cowboys’ owner’s net worth has grown by $1.3 billion since last year, according to Forbes.

Through his oil ventures, Jones became a millionaire and eventually saved up enough money to purchase the Dallas Cowboys for $150 million in 1989. Today, the team is worth an estimated $10 billion.

On top of her Walmart inheritance, she also owns the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche.

She is also married to sports magnate Stan Kroenke (ranked at No. 113 on Forbes’ list), who owns the Los Angeles Rams, Colorado Rapids and the Premier League’s Arsenal F.C.
