FORT WORTH, Texas — Rain or shine, Tarrant County residents will have a chance to receive free cartons of fresh eggs this month.
Tarrant County Commissioner Alisa Simmons announced the giveaway in a news release, calling it “The Sharing the Burden, Spreading the Joy Free Eggs Giveaway.”
It’s happening at four locations across Tarrant County beginning on Saturday, April 5.
“During these uncertain economic times, it concerns me that so many families are struggling to make ends meet. The price of eggs, a very basic essential and nutritional staple of many households, is now out of reach. This is a small gesture to let Tarrant County constituents know that I see their needs,” said Commissioner Simmons.
During the two-weekend event, five hundred dozen eggs will be distributed to families in each precinct: 500 dozen in Precinct 1, 500 dozen in Precinct 2, 500 dozen in Precinct 3, and 500 dozen in Precinct 4.
Officials say this is on a first come, first-served basis, so arrive early.
