Their achievements highlight CHBA BC members’ commitment to quality and innovation, which defines our industry.”

Awards were presented in 53 categories at the gala, including new and renovated residential construction, interior design, sales, marketing, landscaping, and the coveted Grand Georgie awards across several categories. All project entries were built, renovated, developed, created and marketed between Jan. 1, 2023, and Oct. 31, 2024.

North Vancouver’s Twin Lions Contracting took home six Georgie Awards, including ‘Custom Home Builder of the Year.’ “Definitely a successful night,” said Twin Lion’s president Kevin Hatch. “It’s always cool to see colleagues and different people that we’ve collaborated with over the years.”

Twin Lion’s took home the ‘Custom Home Valued $2,000,001 — $3,000,000’ award for its Modern Roots project in North Vancouver. The roughly 4,000 square-foot, four-bedroom custom home was built for a family of four and geared toward net-zero, said Hatch.

“From the energy efficiency and comfort side of things, it has an incredibly airtight building envelope that borders on Passive House levels, high-efficiency mechanical systems, triple-glazed windows, etc.,” said Hatch. “This all contributes to an extremely comfortable, quiet house that also consumes much less energy than a typical home.”

The family-owned construction business also won Georgie Awards for ‘Best Energy Labeled Whole House Renovation,’ ‘Best Single-Family Residential Renovation Over $1,500,000,’ ‘Best Condo Residential Renovation $450,001-$750,000,’ and ‘Best Any Room — New or Renovation.’
