Giants’ Bryce Ford-Wheaton underwent offseason shoulder surgeryon February 4, 2025 at 10:04 am

New York Giants reserve wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton has reportedly undergone surgery to repair a separated shoulder.

Ford-Wheaton, in his second season out of West Virginia, missed his rookie season of 2023 after tearing his ACL in training camp. He spent the entire season on injured reserve (IR).

From Dan Duggan of The Athletic:

Ford-Wheaton recently underwent shoulder surgery, according to a league source. Ford-Wheaton dislocated his shoulder multiple times during the season but played through the injury as a core special teamer. Ford-Wheaton will likely be sidelined during the spring as he recovers from the surgery.

He played in 14 games in 2024 mainly on special teams. Ford-Wheaton returned a blocked field goal 60 yards for the game-winning touchdown in the Giants’ Week 5 win over the Seahawks in Seattle.

Ford-Wheaton was signed as a free agent after going undrafted after the 2023 NFL draft. His ACL injury in training camp two years ago pushed him down the depth chart as the Giants continue to add wideouts such as Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Jalin Hyatt.
