Grande Prairie RCMP’s crime reduction unit arrested one woman and seized drugs, money, and paraphernalia related to trafficking during a traffic stop on Sept. 11.

CRU members saw the female commit a traffic violation while operating a scooter. She then entered a vehicle. It was then that investigators initiated a traffic stop. The female immediately got out of the vehicle, and officers were able to see unstamped cigarettes on her. She was then arrested.

A media release notes that investigators conducted a search subsequent to the arrest and found drugs and paraphernalia associated with trafficking drugs. Items seized included: OxyContin; 27 grams of methamphetamine; 22 grams of crack/cocaine; a digital scale; Canadian currency and dog spray.

Jaime Brosseau, 49, a resident of Grande Prairie, was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime. She appeared before a justice of the peace and was released on conditions. She is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Oct. 6.
