It’s not easy to keep the passion flowing in a relationship while facing the demands and stresses of everyday life but Amanda Holden has several tricks up her sleeve to avoid falling into a rut.
The host has been married to record producer Chris Hughes since 2010 and they share two daughters, Lexi and Holli Rose, as well as a son Theo who was stillborn in 2011.
After 22 years together she admits that they both put serious effort into their relationship which includes her cooking naked while Chris seemingly chases her around the house.

They also make sure to carve out one night a week for the two of them to spend alone time together.
She told the Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine: ‘We try to have date night every Thursday when we go to the theatre or have dinner, or we lock the door and watch Netflix and the kids just have to do their own thing. He’s a busy person as well so I get butterflies thinking about seeing him.

‘We also wind each other up something chronic but that’s why we’ve been together since 2003.’
When asked who wears the trousers in their relationship she insisted that she is the one who’s in charge but that she regularly goes to him for career advice.
When it comes to decorating or what their girls get up to though, she’s the boss.
Like most couples, however, their married life isn’t all plain sailing and Amanda has long scolded her other half for leaving his clothes on the floor.

She recently shared on their airways at Heart Radio that he ‘hit the roof’ when she washed a particular item of clothing when she was sick of the mess.
‘I just scoop them [his clothes] up[, I’m sick of it, I just scoop them up and put them straight in the washing machine,’ she said.

Amanda continued: ‘He comes up and he goes absolutely nuts at me, [saying] “Oh my God why can’t I leave anything where I want, without you… and I said “if it’s on the floor, it’s going in the wash.’
She fretted that she had accidentally ruined an expensive item but not so.
‘… hung up, in our room where the washing machine is, is a hoodie and on the back is a huge picture of Animal from The Muppets playing the drums, and that is the top he was worried I had ruined.’
‘I said to him ” I thought it was going to be a super expensive Ralph Lauren or whatever and he said ‘No, but it’s brand new and I love Animal.’
