Nashville is the country music capital[/caption]

It comes amid a surge in popularity of country music among Gen Z in Ireland.

Tennessee is renowned for its country music scene, boasting connections to the likes of Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen.

The new flights to the country music capital are beginning in just days.

The first flight will take off on April 12.

The flight time is roughly nine hours and flight prices will start at €499.

From there, the flights are set to run four times weekly, meaning jetsetters can head to Nashville with ease.

It means that the airline giant is now flying 22 transatlantic routes this summer.

One of the main reasons behind the addition of the route is its appeal to country music fans.

A new survey revealed that 71% of adults listen to country music.

And a whopping 86% of Gen Z say they are regular listeners.

And Nashville boasts a famous culinary scene, with award-winning restaurants and world-famous southern dishes.

Aer Lingus Chief Executive Officer, Lynne Embleton said: “There has been huge anticipation around this new route on both sides of the Atlantic, with Nashville now one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.

“Nashville’s mass appeal makes it an attractive new destination as Aer Lingus continues to become a bigger airline, flying 22 transatlantic routes this summer and strengthening our position as a leader across the Atlantic.”

She continued: “The new route to Nashville is a milestone for the airline, enabling us to advance our ambitions and reach further into the US, flying to previously unserved markets in North America, including Indianapolis, which commences in May.

STRONG CONNECTION

“The new Airbus A321 XLR, with its extended range, and our geographic position on the Western edge of Europe opens up exciting new destinations and opportunities for Aer Lingus, and most importantly for our customers.

“Aer Lingus’ new Dublin – Nashville route delivers further connectivity through our Dublin Hub, providing a direct connection between Europe and Nashville.”

DeanaIvey, President and CEO, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, said: “Nashville and Ireland have long shared deep musical roots, and this new flight strengthens that connection at an exciting time for our city.

“We’ve built a strong relationship with the Irish travel trade and media over the years, and we’re confident in the success of this new route.

MUSIC CITY

“We look forward to welcoming visitors from Ireland and beyond to experience Music City’s exceptional music, acclaimed dining and vibrant culture.”

President and CEO of Nashville International Airport, Doug Kreulen said: “We are thrilled to welcome Aer Lingus to Nashville, marking an exciting new chapter in the strong relationship we’ve built with Ireland.

“This new nonstop connection between Dublin and Music City strengthens the bond between our communities and celebrates the cultural ties we share.

“Nashville’s legendary music scene and rich heritage make it a must-visit destination for Irish travelers eager to experience the heart of country music.

“We look forward to sharing our Southern hospitality and deep-rooted passion for live entertainment with visitors from Ireland as they explore everything our city has to offer.”

Meanwhile, Aer Lingus chiefs have slashed prices on flights to North America routes – including top spots like New York, Vegas and Florida.

The popular airline announced the sale with discounted flights from Ireland to the US from €205.89.

Holidaymakers must act fast to grab a bargain US flight.

Jet off to the Big Apple with flights from Dublin for as low as €205.89 in September.

Aer Lingus bosses said: “Immerse yourself in countless artistic movements with New York’s many Art Museums, visit impressive monuments such as the Statue of Liberty or Rockefeller Plaza, or find amazing places to eat and drink in the many boroughs New York has to offer.”

Flights from Dublin to Boston start at just €223.39 between August and September.
