The event also served as a farewell for three legendary players – Peter O’Mahony, Conor Murray, and Cian Healy while Johnny Sexton also attended the festivities.

Peter’s wife, Jessica, shared the celebrations in Rome on her social media saying it was a beautiful weekend and her ‘heart was full’ as she posed for selfies, with Conor Murray’s wife Joanna Cooper and Tadhg Beirne’s wife Harriet, who is from Wales.

Also in attendance were Cian Healy’s wife Laura, Sophie van der Flier, Jamison Gibson’s-Parks wife Patti and Johnny Sexton’s wife Laura amongst others.

On Saturday, Peter and fellow Munster teammmate Conor Murray played their last game in green, while Cian Healy was in the stands to watch a week after his final outing in the green jersey.

The Rome celebration was not just about bidding farewell to seasoned players but also acknowledging the team’s accomplishments and embracing new beginnings in the world of rugby.

Interim head coach Simon Easterby has acknowledged areas for improvement with the team but highlighted the positives from the tournament.
