Jackie Chan Action Film ‘The Shadow’s Edge’ Wraps Principal Photography, First Behind-The-Scenes Look Revealed​on January 27, 2025 at 9:00 am

Jackie Chan‘s newest film The Shadow’s Edge has wrapped principal photography.

Directed by Chinese director Larry Yang, filming commenced in October 2024 in Macau.

The Shadow’s Edge marks the second collaboration between Jackie Chan and Larry Yang, after they also worked together on Ride On, which was released theatrically in more than 30 countries.

Ride On became the highest-grossing Chinese film in Japan since 2022 and ranked among the top three highest-grossing Chinese films in Malaysia in 2023. 

In The Shadow’s Edge, Jackie Chan stars as a retired surveillance expert from the Macau Police Service, who is rehired by the Police Force to collaborate with a team of elite young detectives to help capture a group of cunning thieves. In a tense confrontation between traditional tracking techniques and state-of-the-art technology, the police and criminals engage in a battle of wits, setting the stage for a cat-and-mouse showdown between good and evil. 

The Shadow’s Edge also stars Zhang Zifeng (Sister), Ci Sha (Creation of the Gods I & II) and Wen Junhui, the Chinese member of K-pop group SEVENTEEN.  

Jackie Chan also reunites with Tony Leung Ka Fai for the first time since their last collaboration in The Myth almost 20 years ago. Leung is also starring in Tsui Hark’s latest film Legends of the Condor Heroes.

Hong Kong-based sales company Golden Network Asia will introduce The Shadow’s Edge to buyers at the upcoming European Film Market. 

Produced by Victoria Hon (Ride On), The Shadow’s Edge is presented by iQIYI Pictures (Beijing), Tao Tickets, Hairun Pictures and China ChenXiang. 

The Shadow’s Edge is the latest Jackie Chan film handled by Golden Network Asia and Hairun Pictures. Golden Network Asia has previously represented titles like Ride On, Vanguard and Kung Fu Yoga.
