The UFC commentator and podcast host said he will not be attending UFC 315 in Montreal in May because he doesn’t “go to Canada anymore.”

During Saturday’s episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, he told guest Chris Williamson that he was steering clear of the UFC event.

“I won’t be there. I don’t go to Canada anymore,” Rogan informed the British podcaster.

“I don’t,” he said with a laugh. “I’d rather go to Russia.”

Earlier in the show, Rogan remarked that Canada’s government is “terrible” — but noted that “the Canadian people are awesome.”

Rogan’s criticism of Canada began during the Freedom Convoy days of the COVID-19 pandemic, after the Justin Trudeau government invoked the Emergencies Act when thousands of truckers descended on Ottawa to protest vaccine mandates.

Rogan’s feelings about Canada haven’t changed now that Mark Carney is Liberal leader and prime minister, calling Carney “just as bad” as Trudeau.

However, Rogan has said he does not think Canada should be the 51st state, calling it “the dumbest f***ing feud” and wants the two countries to make up.

“We have to become friends with Canada again. This is so ridiculous,” the podcaster said last month.
