A Belfast man suspected of being involved in the murder of John George has been extradited to Spain from neighbouring Portugal.
The man, 27-year-old Jonny Smyth, was arrested in Portugal last month on foot of an international warrant.
It has been reported that he was driven across the border at the weekend and is due to be transferred to the Costa Blanca area.
Mr George, a 37-year-old father-of-two from west Belfast, went missing from Torrevieja in the Alicante region in December. His body was discovered in January.
An autopsy revealed he had been stabbed and shot, his Belfast-based lawyer said.
Mr Smyth was detained in the city of Braga in the north of Portugal on March 25. It is believed he is due before a judge investigating the murder in the coming days.
