Korean Thriller ‘A Girl With Closed Eyes’ Secures Distribution In Japan, Poland, Taiwan & Vietnam Ahead Of EFM​on February 4, 2025 at 1:11 am

Seoul-based sales outfit Finecut has closed a series of initial deals for thriller-drama A Girl With Closed Eyes ahead of Berlin‘s European Film Market (EFM).

Starring Kim Minha from Apple TV+’s hit series Pachinko, A Girl With Closed Eyes has been acquired by Red Castle Group (Commonwealth of Independent States), The Klockworx Co., Ltd. (Japan), Media4Fun (Poland), Cola Films (Taiwan) and AEONBETA (Vietnam).

A Girl With Closed Eyes follows a murder suspect (played by Kim) and a detective (played by Moon Choi from Okja) with a shared past. They are reunited through the murder of a bestselling author, uncovering hidden truths as the investigation deepens.

The film is the directorial debut of Chun Sunyoung, whose short film Good Night was invited to Cannes Critics’ Week.

A Girl With Closed Eyes had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival last year and it will also screen as the closing film for the upcoming Florence Korea Film Festival in March this year.

Finecut’s slate also includes Berlinale competition title, What Does that Nature Say to You? from prolific Korean filmmaker Hong Sang-soo.

Finecut confirmed that A Girl With Closed Eyes will have its market screening for international buyers during EFM, alongside the first footage from Park Hoon-jung’s Tristes Tropiques.

Other titles presented by Finecut include occult-action animation Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning and Secret: Untold Melody, starring Doh Kyung-soo, a member of K-pop group EXO.
