Re: Bell: In Alberta, Premier Danielle Smith Kicks Nenshi NDP Butt…

The province of Alberta isn’t a place run purely on hot air alone. It is a Canadian province, where our natural-born leaders take it a step further down the road and turn empty words into solid actions. For four long years, Alberta hit a bump on the road. Now that we have fully recovered from this political hiccup, there’ll be no looking back as the province moves full-steam ahead into a bright and shiny future.

Celebrate Trump

To celebrate the United States of America President Donald J. Trump’s first trip to Alberta let us symbolically welcome and honour him by singing the American national anthem The Star Spangled Banner at the beginning of TSN’s first nationally televised regular season Saturday CFL game of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats playing the Calgary Stampeders on June 7 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary! It is an absolutely wonderful song. I’m sure that all the CFL’s American players on the rosters of both teams will appreciate this gesture of love and unity between Alberta and America. Let’s do everything we can to give President Trump a well deserved hero’s welcome!

Fearful for the future

Canada has serious problems that won’t be solved by King Charles reading a soothing speech to open Parliament for a little while before it closes again for a long while. This isn’t an auspicious beginning for the new Liberal government, and we aren’t hopeful that they can address all the issues created and ignored by the previous Liberal government. History tends to repeat itself.

Trump not welcome here

There is a G7 summit to be held in Canada this June in Kananaskis. The leaders of these countries attend these meetings, which will include U.S. President Donald Trump. Canada has a long-standing law to not allow convicted felons into Canada. Trump is a lawfully convicted felon. Will Canada have enough courage to enforce this law and not allow Trump into Canada to attend this meeting? I and other fellow Canadians wait with bated breath. I am still holding my breath.

(Don’t hold it too long. We can’t see the president being banned.)
