Makeup tutorial: How to create a natural look for a photo shoot​on March 28, 2025 at 6:00 pm

Natural makeup for every day is different from natural makeup for a photo shoot. You’ll want to start with clean and moisturized skin. In fact, it’s important to prep the skin the night before to ensure your skin feels smooth and hydrated.

To even out the complexion, I recommend a medium-to-full coverage foundation. Here, I am using one of my personal favourites, Dior Forever Skin Perfect 24H Multi-Use Foundation Stick. It offers buildable coverage and glides on smoothly to blur and eliminate imperfections. I evenly blended the product into the skin using a large blender brush. To brighten under the eyes, I suggest using a concealer that is the same shade or one shade lighter than your foundation. Here, I’m using Benefit Cosmetic Boi-ing Cakeless Full Coverage Waterproof Liquid Concealer.

Next you’ll want to contour the face. You can use a contour stick or palette to sculpt and define your facial features, or you can use bronzer, like I did here, with NARS Laguna Bronzer. I generally apply bronzer to define the cheek bones and jawline. I also like to lightly dust a little on my eyelids for a natural contour over top of my cream eye shadow.
