Man, 25, fatally shot in River North following argument, police say​on March 9, 2025 at 5:45 pm

A man was fatally shot in River North early Sunday morning, according to Chicago Police.

Police said that around 3:15 a.m. at the 500 block of North Franklin Street, a 25-year-old man got into a verbal altercation with another man.

The altercation turned physical when the man shot the victim multiple times in the chest before fleeing the scene. The Chicago Fire Department treated the victim, who was later pronounced dead at Northwestern Hospital.

No one is in custody and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
