A 47-year-old man who was found unresponsive at an apartment fire Saturday morning in the Kenwood neighborhood had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, Chicago police said.
Authorities were summoned about 6:30 a.m. to an apartment fire in the 4900 block of South Cornell Avenue where the unresponsive man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, but his identity wasn’t immediately released.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
