DALLAS — Dallas police are still searching for one of two men accused of injuring a person in a shooting at a gas station last month.
On March 15, officers responded to reports of a shooting just before 2:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of Lake June Road, DPD said.
In surveillance video released by DPD, the two suspects enter the gas station, purchase a few items and linger around the property near a silver pickup truck.
A few minutes after the victim arrived at the gas station, both suspects walked back toward the truck before the suspect in a red hoodie pulled out a weapon and fired one round in the air, police said in a news release.
As the suspect’s pickup truck was seen leaving, the second suspect, wearing a black shirt, shot from the passenger side of the truck, striking the victim.
Dallas police said the victim is recovering from his injuries and expected to be OK.
In an update on April 25, DPD said the suspect seen in the red hoodie, identified as 26-year-old Richard Rivera, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with this case. He was already in the Dallas County Jail on unrelated charges, DPD said.
DPD said the other suspect is still outstanding.
This is a developing story; please check back for updates.
