ELLIS COUNTY, Texas — A Central Texas man was arrested in Dallas County on Tuesday after fleeing the scene of a burglary call and leading police on a chase through two North Texas counties, according to law enforcement officials.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) said deputies responded at approximately 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 500 block of Judys Lane in Italy, Texas. When officers got there, the suspect, later identified as Anthony Lee Turner, fled the area in a pink Ford Bronco he reportedly borrowed from a friend, which initiated a pursuit, officials said.
During the chase, ECSO said deputies saw Turner throwing stolen property out of the vehicle’s window. The pursuit crossed from Ellis County into Dallas County, where the vehicle chase concluded. ECSO said Turner then got out of the vehicle and ran away.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded and deployed K9 units to search for Turner, ECSO said. They established a perimeter of the area and air support was brought in, as well, to help find Turner. Turner was ultimately found and arrested, ECSO said. Turner was transported to the Wayne McCollum Detention Center (Ellis County Jail). His bond was set at $150,000, officials said.
Turner was charged with burglary of habitation, tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, jail records showed.
Law enforcement said Turner is a resident of Little River Academy in Bell County.

- Italy Police
- Waxahachie Police
- Texas Highway Patrol (DPS)
- Red Oak Police
