A man has been admitted to hospital after being assaulted by a pair of men armed with a machete in an apparent attempted carjacking in Brisbane’s south on Saturday morning.
Shortly after 6am, police and paramedics were called to Audrey Street in Camp Hill, where a 48-year-old had suffered cuts to his arm and chest.
The man had been in his car when he was reportedly approached by two men who demanded his keys.
Police said when the 48-year-old refused, the pair – armed with a machete – attacked him but did not steal his vehicle.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
The attackers fled the scene in another vehicle – a Kia Sorento that police said had been stolen from a Kangaroo Point address overnight – which was found abandoned nearby.
Investigations were continuing on Saturday, with detectives asking anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage of Audrey Street or its surrounds to contact police.
