​Edmonton police have charged two men with more than 40 drug trafficking and firearms offences after an investigation led to the seizure of roughly $427,000 worth of drugs, weapons, firearms, cash, cigarettes, licence plates, and passports. Edmonton police have charged two men with more than 40 drug trafficking and firearms offences after an investigation led to the seizure of roughly $427,000 worth of drugs, weapons, firearms, cash, cigarettes, licence plates, and passports.

The bulk of the drugs seized, worth about $408,000, was 2.7 kilograms of fentanyl.

In August 2024 Edmonton police started investigating two men, whom they arrested on Nov. 2, 2024, without incident.

A search of one of the men and the home they both share, in the area of 172 Street and 67 Avenue, turned up a quantity of drugs and a cache of weapons:

• More than 2,755 grams of fentanyl with a street value of $408,500

• More than 140 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $8,000

• More than 80 grams of cocaine with a street value of $6,000

• More than $6,000 of Canadian currency

• Hundreds of illegal cigarettes

• Two stolen licence plates

• One Canadian passport

• One Shotgun

• Two rifles

• Multiple swords

• Ammunition rounds

• Evidence of drug production

Jameson Doherty, 54, and Timothy York, 42, have been charged with a combined total of 40 drug trafficking and weapon-related charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession for the purpose of drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm.
