Management at Deele College Raphoe say that there is no threat to any members of the student body as they get set to return on Monday morning.
It’s understood that members of staff were violently threatened by a pupil.
No students or staff were harmed in the frightening incident.
Gardaí were called to the school in Raphoe and subsequently arrested a juvenile youth.
He was later released from custody without charge.
Gardaí told Donegal Daily that their investigations into the matter were ongoing.
“Dear Parent/Guardian, on Thursday we had a school incident that has been reported widely on social media,” the school said in a message distributed to parents today.
“I advise that the school has initiated an investigation and can assure you that as a result of actions taken by school management, there is no remaining threat to the safety of any member of the Deele College community.”
“The school will reopen tomorrow Monday as normal.”
“We look forward to welcoming everyone back following the school incident and storm.”
