GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A North Texas city councilmember was charged with assault causing bodily injury and criminal mischief, police confirmed to WFAA.

An arrest affidavit said Mike Del Bosque, a Grand Prairie city councilman, pushed a real estate broker to the ground and then punched him in the head, after the man walked into the councilman’s clinic — apparently believing it was for sale.

Investigators said it happened at Intire Health Physician Group along North Carrier Parkway last Wednesday afternoon. Del Bosque arrived soon after the broker, identified as David Collantes, and his associates left the building, the affidavit said.

When he arrived and confronted Collantes, 60, in a parking lot up the street from the clinic, Del Bosque, “without provocation,” knocked Collantes’ $2000 Samsung cell phone out of his hand and pushed him to the ground, the affidavit said.

As Collantes began to get up, investigators said Del Bosque punched him in the head. Collantes suffered abrasions to his knee and his hands and went to an urgent care clinic the following day, the affidavit said.

Detectives said the incident was captured on surveillance video.

Del Bosque declined to comment Thursday, saying his lawyers had advised him not to say anything as the case continued. Collantes did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In a statement to WFAA, the city of Grand Prairie said it was “aware of an alleged incident” involving city councilman Del Bosque.

“The City is not in a position to provide further comment due to the ongoing investigation regarding this matter,” a city spokesperson told WFAA.

Del Bosque has served as a councilman since 2017 and his latest term expires in 2026.
