Brandon Smith’s impending mid-season move from the Roosters to the Rabbitohs continues to gather pace. It now seems it is a matter of days – not weeks – before the paperwork is signed and joins Latrell and Co. at South Sydney.

While he is still recovering from the ACL injury that has had him on the sidelines since late last year, he is keeping busy. Yesterday he was spruiking a new menu item at Nando’s. Just quietly, Nando’s dish up some quality chicken.

On the day the NRL formalised the return of the Bears to the NRL as a Perth-based team, came an idea right out of left field. How about players be available for both the NRL Bears and Super Rugby Western Force at the same time.

V’landys had this to say on the idea on Thursday:

There’s an opportunity here that may never have been done anywhere in the world where the two teams could be combined to a certain degree and can use each other’s players in specific matches.

Here is the full report on the proposal.
